Leslie, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom...she is a beautiful lady whose light now shines down on you and your family from Heaven. She will always be with you in spirit. I know the physical separation is very hard to get use to. Time will ease your heartbreak. May the Lord wrap his loving arms around you and your family. Take care of one another.

when someone we love dies a cloud turns into a angel and flies up to tell God to put another flower on a pillow.
A bird gives the message back to the world and sings a silent prayer that makes the rain cry.
People disappear but they never really go away. The spirits up there put the sun to bed, wake up the grass and spin the earth in dizzy circles.
Sometimes you can see them dancing in a cloud during the daytime, when they are supposed to be sleeping.
They paint the rainbows and also the sunsets and make waves splash and tug at the tide.
They toss shooting stars and listen to wishes. And when they sing wind songs they whisper to us...don;t miss me too much the view is nice and i am doing just fine....
.................
Leslie the winds have carried my thoughts and love across the world to wrap around you gently and hold you tight as it brushes across your face it whispers in your ear that we are thinking of you and your family at this time....
sincerely wendy and graeme cooper

You are in my prayers. May God give you strength, peace and comfort. When I lost my mom a friend sent me this message, "They who are loved live forever in memory." I have come to know this is true. Think of the good times you shared as it will help you through these sad times.

Lesley... I found this a long time ago and I have loved the imagery for all the years since... I hope this can provide for you a sense of solace:

"I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says, 'There she goes!'

Gone where?

Gone from my sight ... that is all.

She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone at my side says, 'There she goes!' there are other eyes watching her coming and their voices ready to take up the glad shouts 'Here she comes!'

This is how I see and understand death." ~ Henry Van Dyke

I lost my mom 11 years ago. It brings me comfort now many years later to know that I was there for her in the end- just as you were for your mom- the roles do reverse and we become the caretaker and they become the cared for...a role I feel honored to have been able to experience. Someone once said to me that going through a death with a loved one is one of the most intimate life experiences. I look at that time spent with my mom in her end as a special gift.
Blessings to you,
Elizabeth

Oh my dear Leslie-
I am only now getting to your blog today- having been sick and away from the internet since Christmas...

I am so so sorry for your loss.

I lost my Mother in January of this past year (coming up on the one year anniversary on January 25th)

All the words in the world are not enough- they can not fill the void of losing your mother.

When someone says to me- I lost my Mother or I lost my Father- I NOW truly know- their pain.

I will be thinking of you and your family...

All my love... and friendship.
